The light flashes on my cable modem cable?

At first I was leaving on the Internet, now leaves me on the internet with the flasher? The light on is lightfast online is solid and flashing cable from time to time very slowly, the light flashes just ethernet. I'm also using a router, but do not think this is a problem with my router.

Depending on the brand I think this is fine, only shows traffic on the side of cable modem
